About Amber
My practice, Winth Therapy, is built on the belief that healing begins with being heard. Winth stands for Words I Need To Hear—because in therapy, the right words at the right time can be deeply transformative. Whether it’s affirmation, truth, or reflection, words have the power to heal, empower, and guide us back to ourselves.
I provide therapy grounded in psychodynamic theory, helping clients explore how early life experiences and attachment patterns shape who they are today. I use a trauma-informed lens to gently uncover the thoughts, behaviors, and life events that may be affecting your mental and emotional wellness.
Understanding the mind-body connection is also central to my work. Emotional distress often shows up physically, and I incorporate this awareness into our sessions to support holistic healing.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from The University of Chicago. My professional background includes working with survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and youth in residential treatment settings. These experiences continue to shape my commitment to providing affirming, culturally responsive, and empowering care.
At Winth Therapy, you don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to start. Together, we’ll uncover the words you need to hear—and the ones you already carry within.
